50 years of flower power - a freeform crochet and knit artwork

This blog has been documenting the creation of a unique piece of wall art for an upcoming Sydney textile show. Freeform crochet or knit contributions were sought worldwide, for a collaborative artwork to be exhibited at Fibrefest, June 17-21, 2015, in conjunction with the Craft & Quilt Fair at Glebe Island, Sydney, Australia. All the 'scrumbles' have now arrived, but you will be able to continue to watch the progress here. Enjoy!

some work-in-progress photos

Here, to whet your appetite for the finished artwork, are a few preliminary pinning-and-stitching/work-in-progress photos.

Some of the contributors will see their scrumbles added together already...

but if you sent something and you don't see your work included yet (or over the next week or two), please don't panic...

I've been working on doing the joining in sections, and have already taken many other photos which I will add to the blog over the next few days and weeks, and I will be taking even more pictures once I begin to join these sections together...

and of course they'll be even more photos of the entire finished piece once it goes on show next month...

but in the meantime, enjoy! and I'll be back with more again soon

Stunning. Absolutely gorgeous! Amazing what can be accomplished when people come together as one for a great cause. Rock on!
